I am running for re-election as State Representative of the 53rd District. Over the last eight years, I have worked hard to represent your interests in Springfield. I ask for your vote based on my accomplishments and vision for the future of our community.

• Holding down taxes. I sponsored legislation that caps property tax assessments at 7% annually and we have successfully increased homestead exemptions for seniors and families.
• Improving our schools. I supported a new law that gives school districts greater financial flexibility and support full-funding for programs for special needs programs.
• Improving our transportation infrastructure. It was with great pleasure that I attended the opening of the second North Central line a few months ago. I have worked hard to make this happen for many years.
• More jobs for our residents. I have worked very hard to improve the business climate in Illinois. We finally successfully passed medical malpractice reform last year and I have fought against anti-jobs tax increases that have been proposed over the past few years.
